
The “Investments for the future” program was launched in 2010 and represents a total budget of €35 billion. It is a strong and dynamic commitment to improving long-term growth for the French economy in 5 key areas, by promoting world-class initiatives:
- Higher Education and Training – €11 billion
- Research – €7.9 billion
- Industry sectors & SMEs – €6.5 billion
- Sustainable Development – €5.1 billion
- Digital Economy – €4.5 billion
Three years afters the start of the “Investments for the future program”, over 100 calls for proposals have been launched, resulting in 3,400 projects being submitted and 1,200 selected, involving some 2,300 companies. Additional data in:

Ten state agencies have been selected by the French government to supervise various sectors of the overall “Investments for the future” program. The budget given hereafter is the amount that was originally planned and may have been adjusted as the implementation of the program progresses.
